Ocean Front Dog-Mahal

Had a fantastic stay at Kathleens place this past week! The location is phenomenal for OB and you’re within walking distance of everything—the beach, dog beach, and all of the great restaurants and bars. Place is as described and Kathleen had tons of beach chairs and toys available. Kathleen was a great hostess and was very communicative and available for anything i needed during my stay. Will definitely be back!!

I've now stayed at Kathleen's place 4 times! That's how much I love it! Finding a place close by the dog beach with everything you need- why would I stay anywhere else when I visit ocean beach?! Will definitely be staying again!

Kathleen’s place was a great location had everything we wanted for a dog friendly beach vacation trip!!! couldn’t be much closer to dog Beach as well as the normal beach walkable to Newport Avenue and the pier and all the restaurants in the neighborhood. The view was awesome. Front patio was great to kick back and people watch. Very friendly host that allowed us an early check in,which really helped with our travel plans informative and friendly would definitely recommend staying here for a couple or a couple and a small child especially with a fur buddy for a beach trip!!!!!

We loved our stay at Kathleen's!!! Great location right across the street from the beach for our older dog to walk to easily. Kathleen is wonderful helpful and a complete pleasure, communication was easy. Could not have asked for a better host. But what we liked the best and appreciated most about this beach cottage was the original retro aesthetics. Kathleen's father built this cottage with the help of the fire department and she has kept it's sweet vibe of OB's past of simpler times. It reminded my husband (OB native) of the cottage his grandfather built with the fire department around that same time. We are looking forward to staying again soon!

An awesome location, so close to the dog beach. My pup and I spent many hours at the beach but also on the front patio just soaking up the sun and the cool OB vibe. I mentioned to Kathleen that there was no aluminum foil and she had some delivered within the hour. She is super attentive and always available. We will certainly be staying at her place on our next trip to San Diego.

Wonderful area across from the beach. Perfect spot for a couple and a couple of kids and a dog. Everything is walkable within 10 minutes, parking is usually always available and if not there's a secluded private parking spot right in front of the gate. Kathleen was super accommodating and friendly. We had an issue getting into the AirBnB with the code but after a quick phone call, it was all fixed. We definitely can't wait to visit again soon! My 15 month old daughter loved the open space! It gets a little loud if your outside after 10pm with the planes overhead and the bond fires on the beach at night but even then, once inside it all fades away. Great Stay!
